I had the Best Miami Weekend as New Yorker

As a travel blogger, I had the opportunity to visit Miami and explore its vibrant culture. Here are some of the fun and entertaining spots I visited:

Where to Eat:

  • Gitano Miami: This upscale Tulum-import hosts the happiest happy hours in Miami. Come with friends to see and be seen, drink tropical cocktails, and be infused with clubby island music. Gitano Miami has a surplus of tropical plants, daybeds, and disco balls if you head upstairs to the roof.
  • Juvia: This late-night Caribbean-inspired lounge is located under the Cipriani restaurant in downtown Miami. It blends colonial-style furniture and amber lowlights with lush tropical elements, and extends into a garden-style terrace overlooking the water.

What to Do:

  • Arcade Odyssey: This game and entertainment center in Miami is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening. It has a wide variety of classic and modern arcade games, as well as pinball machines and console games.
  • Wynwood Art District: This neighborhood is known for its colorful street art and murals. It also has plenty of boutiques, secondhand stores, galleries, restaurants, and bars.
  • Coopertown: The Original Airboat Tour offers thrilling and educational rides through Everglades National Park.
  • Monty's Sunset: This waterfront bar and restaurant in South Beach is a classic Miami experience. It's a great place to enjoy the outdoors and have a drink or a meal.
  • Rubell Museum: This new museum in Miami has a collection of contemporary art and is a great place to explore and enjoy art al fresco in the plaza.
  • Miami Helicopter Ride: For the adventurous traveler, a Miami helicopter ride is a great way to see the city from above.

Where to Cheers:

  • Bodega Taqueria y Tequila: This speakeasy-style bar in South Beach has a hidden entrance behind a taco stand. It has a great selection of tequila and mezcal, as well as creative cocktails.
  • Broken Shaker at Freehand Miami: This rooftop bar has a laid-back vibe and great views of the city. It's a great place to enjoy a drink and relax.
  • Dante's HiFi: This bar in Little Havana has a retro vibe and a great selection of cocktails. It also has live music and DJs on weekends.

Miami is a city that has something for everyone, from beaches to museums to nightlife. It's a great destination for a rejuvenating trip or extended stay.
